About us

Huntingdon RYC was set up to allow owners of Radio Controlled yachts to sail and race along with others with the same interest.

The yachts sailed are a mix of DF95’s, which is a great entry level boat to the sport, and  International One Metre which is a class sailed all over the world, both of these boats are great fun to sail and if set up correctly are very competitive.

We are a ‘fun and competition’ club offering help to new comers and members on any aspect of radio sailing. If you have an interest in joining us please make contact. Details are on the Contact and Locations page.

Huntingdon RYC has grown recently, From its humble beginnings with  with just two members we now  regularly have a bank full and growing interest every month.

The club uses a handicapping start system so that beginners can compete with the more experienced guys. We offer help, guidance and Training.

We sail on an open lake, where we position the buoys each week for racing

“The racing is what it’s all about, this not only gives purpose to the sailing, but also will accelerate your skill level in handling the boat”

Due to the nature of the boats we sail, the racing is very tight and very competitive as there is little to no difference between boats, so winning is down to the individuals skills
