The club is keen to make everyone welcome and provide the best opportunity for them to learn and improve their sailing skills.
So we are pleased to announce that along with the novice handicap system, we have recently introduced a “mentoring” system, aimed at those who are new to the sport or are ex-sailors taking up radio sailing.
We know (from experience) how important boat set up is, having it set to its optimum performance will make your sailing easier and remove some of the frustration.
If you feel that this would be of benefit to you, one of our members will arrange to provide 3 sessions of boat tuning/set up prior to racing on Saturdays, this system applies to both IOM’s & DF95’s.
We are really proud that within our friendly ‘hands on club’ that offers of help from our experienced sailors is always at hand during our sailing days, but also very conscious as our club grows that this does detract from their sailing.
Our mentoring sessions are hands on and would be useful to anyone new, returning or getting frustrated with their boat. So if you feel this would be of benefit to you
please email hryc.mentoring@btinternet.com and one of the team will be in touch
Aside from this, there is always some on hand to help if you don’t understand, as the club believes in
“No Question is a Silly One.”
